My name is Bill Harris and I am a native of the Alton/Old Town, ME area as well as the host of FLICKWISH RISING, a movie news podcast that I produce with my son Brandon who is in 7th grade.

With support from Redbox, the mission of our show is to cover the latest box office news with everyday movie fans while testing their movie memory courtesy of our movie trivia tournament for students in grades 6-12 known as The FlickWish Showdown.

Old Town, Bangor, Orono, and Brewer Battle in The FlickWish Showdown to Support Partners for Peace of Maine

On September 21, 2019, FLICKWISH RISING will be recording an exhibition edition of The FlickWish Showdown for students in grades 6-12 at The Jump Into Fall Craft Fair at The Old Town Elks Lodge from 1:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. to help support Partners for Peace of Maine.

Partners for Peace’s mission is to help those affected by domestic violence and to work towards ending personal, institutional, and cultural violence.

Students from grades 6-12 will be representing Bangor, Old Town, Orono, or Brewer in the tournament as they battle for movie fandom supremacy while facing movie questions from the worlds of Harry Potter, Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel, with some mystery questions thrown into the mix to keep everyone on their toes.

Tournament Schedule

Match: The Guardians of the Galaxy (Old Town) vs. The Fast and the Furious (Orono)
Time: 1:00p.m. to 1:40p.m.

Match: The Avengers (Bangor) vs. The Incredibles (Brewer)
Time: 1:40p.m. to 2:20p.m.

Match: The FlickWish Showdown Championship
Time: 2:20p.m. to 3:00p.m.

What are the Prizes?

GameStop and Bangor Mall Cinemas 10

Each member of the winning team from The FlickWish Showdown will receive a $15 Gift Card to Bangor Mall Cinemas 10 and we will hold a final drawing at the end of the tournament for a $100 Gift Card to GameStop.

A minimum donation of $10 to Partners for Peace is required to participate in the drawing for a $100 Gift Card to GameStop.

Well, it looks like all that worry that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was doomed for a dip after AVENGERS: ENDGAME was all for nothing as the MCU is alive and well post-snap.

As he begins his rise in taking over Tony Stark’s mantle, Peter Parker ruled the July 12-14 box office weekend as SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME swung into action for a second straight weekend with a $45.3 million reign.

Redbox Brings FlickWish Showdown to New England Teens

LUNENBURG, MA – With the 2019 box office being dominated by such hits as AVENGERS: ENDGAME and CAPTAIN MARVEL and with STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER on the horizon, Redbox and FlickWish Studios are preparing to channel that movie love into a new movie trivia tournament that will become an annual tradition for middle/high school students across New England.

On July 17, FlickWish, led by a sponsorship group that includes Redbox, Great Wolf Lodge, The Lowell Spinners, North End Subaru of Lunenburg, MA, and O’Neil Cinemas of Littleton, MA, will debut The FlickWish Showdown where students from The Boys & Girls Club of Lunenburg, MA and The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell, MA will put their movie memory to the test in an eight-team tournament as they battle for movie fandom supremacy and The FlickWish Championship on August 5 at O’Neil Cinemas in Littleton, MA from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

With guests that include Gordon Edes, the executive historian for the Boston Red Sox, The FlickWish Showdown will be showcased on FlickWish’s own podcast FLICKWISH RISING via Apple Podcasts and SoundCloud as well as across YouTube and Facebook.

Featuring movie trivia that will range from HARRY POTTER and the MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE to PIXAR and STAR WARS, FlickWish invites movie-loving families from all walks of life to join The FlickWish Championship at O’Neil Cinemas and cheer for the final two teams; with one reigning supreme as they raise The 2019 FlickWish Championship trophy.

Cinema World and FlickWish Studios Introduce Movie Trivia Tournament for Middle High Schools

LUNENBURG, MA – As the New England Patriots wrap up another memorable season with a sixth Super Bowl title, Cinema World in Fitchburg and Lunenburg’s own FlickWish Studios are kicking off a tournament that will put the movie memory of students from grades 6 to 12 to the test.

On Saturday, February 16, FWS’ flagship podcast FLICKWISH RISING, a movie news podcast that honors YOU, THE MOVIE FAN, will be recording a LIVE segment at The Boys & Girls Club of Lunenburg from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, called The FlickWish Showdown, a movie trivia game show, in the spirit of Family Feud, where two teams of movie fans from grades 6 to 12 will step into the ring and go toe-to-toe in a battle for movie fandom supremacy.

With a $35 million second-weekend take, it looks like Hollywood’s favorite symbiote was dead-on with “They way I see it…WE can do whatever WE want.”
